| Arthur Parish Morton,
of Boston in Lincolnshire, was a Grocer, baker and a bottler
of mineral waters. He was also Jerry's great-Grandfather.
Along with tens of millions of other Europeans his life, and that
of his family, was completely transformed in the upheaval of 1914
- 1918. |
| An article pondering what
it is that makes some bottles 'historically important'
and others not, regardless of monetary value or rarity. |
| A guide to British
pontils and pontil marks. There is a lot of confusion about
UK vs US vs French, 'Dutch', etc marks, and a lot of mistakes are
made by collectors as a result of this confusion. Hopefully this article
will help. This page will develop over the next year or two as various
pieces of research and surveys of collections are completed. |
| This will eventually include
a series of articles on different aspects of (amongst other things)
British impressed and slab sealed stoneware bottles and flasks. Starting
small, but with big ambitions! |
| Other articles will be added to this page
every month or two, including various pieces of 'Guest' writing, we
hope! |
