Bottle digging and bottle collecting stories and articles

welcome to Diggers' Diary

Ten green bottles, hanging on the wall. Ten green bottles hanging on the wall. And if one green bottle should accidentally fall, we would catch it, cherish it, and tell you all about it.

This is a site dedicated to our hobby of discovering, researching and collecting antique bottles.

Your hosts are:  Darren Gray and Jeremy (Jerry) Kemp.

It's a place to wallow in the GLORIES of old rubbish, to be amazed by hands-on history that ANYONE can get their hands on, and to experience the thrill of THE HUNT!

The Collections section is where we introduce ourselves and some items from our collections. The Featured Bottles section is also here: a section we will be adding to from time to time.

The Finding bottles section has links to our Digging Stories, and a section about How We Dig, which includes our Digging Code of Conduct.

The Articles page includes researched articles about various aspects of collecting British antique bottles, from ID and dating to company histories.

The Links page is where you will find links to other related websites. It will also eventually include a reference list of relevant books, papers, articles, etc.

Contact us by email if you have questions or comments. All genuine emails will be responded to, although it may take a little while, so please be patient!
